Willow Basket Workshop

Service Description

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to make a round shopping basket from start to finish using traditional willow weaving techniques. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have woven before, this class is a gentle and creative way to explore or deepen your skills. All tools and materials will be provided, including high-quality Somerset-grown willow. I’ll guide you through each step, from preparing the willow to shaping and finishing your basket. There’ll be plenty of time for questions, and I’ll be on hand to support you throughout the day. Workshops run from 9:30 AM to around 4:00–4:30 PM, with plenty of breaks. Group sizes are kept small to ensure a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and lots of one-to-one guidance. You’ll leave not only with a beautiful handwoven basket to take home, but also with a sense of calm, achievement, and a deeper connection to this timeless craft. Tea, coffee, biscuits, and cake are provided to keep you fuelled throughout the day—please just bring your own lunch.
